Four-Panel Round Foam Carousel Cake Kit
Four curved panels rise toward a single centre point and blend into a completely circular lower edge. The result is a canopy that keeps the traditional round carousel outline but carries real architectural definition, and that definition survives decorating instead of disappearing under the first layer of fondant.
This is the canopy to choose when the finished cake is going to be photographed. A smooth dome reads flat in a photo; the four ridges catch light and give the roof depth from every angle.

Choosing your size
| Kit | Canopy | Column | Base | Assembled height |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6 inch | 6 in wide x 2.75 in high | 2 in dia x 6 in | 6 in x 1 in | approx 9.75 in |
| 8 inch | 8 in wide x 3.5 in high | 2.5 in dia x 7 in | 8 in x 1.25 in | approx 11.75 in |
| 10 inch | 10 in wide x 4.5 in high | 3 in dia x 8.5 in | 10 in x 1.5 in | approx 14.5 in |
Match the kit to your cake, not to the look you want. The canopy should be one to two inches smaller than the tier it sits on, so a ring of cake stays visible around the base. The 6 inch kit looks best on a 7 or 8 inch tier, the 8 inch kit on a 9 or 10 inch tier, and the 10 inch kit on an 11 or 12 inch tier.
Why this foam is not the cheap stuff
Ridges are unforgiving. In low-density polystyrene the bead structure crumbles right along a cut ridge, so the panel lines end up soft and uneven before you have touched them. We cut dense, fine-cell EPS with a closed surface, which holds a crisp panel edge and takes fondant without pitting.
Putting it together
Run a wooden dowel or long skewer down through the column into the base, and a second one up into the canopy. Cover each piece before assembly if you are working in fondant. Use a food-safe barrier, such as a thin cake board or acetate, wherever the base meets an edible cake.
Questions people ask
Does it come decorated? No. It arrives as undecorated white foam.
Do the panel lines show after decorating? That is the point of this shape. A thin layer of fondant or buttercream follows the ridges rather than hiding them.
Will it hold carousel horses? Yes. The foam takes skewers and dowels, so light resin, plastic or gum paste horses hang or stand without trouble.
Can I get a size that is not listed? Yes. See custom shapes and sizes.
