Foam Oval Cake Dummy 8" x 6" - Fake Cake Tier

An 8 by 6 inch oval foam cake dummy, available in 3, 4, 5 and 6 inch heights, cut from dense EPS foam in our own workshop in Florida.

Oval is the shape that softens a tiered cake without going fully round. It reads as more formal than a circle and less severe than a square, which is why it keeps coming back in wedding and anniversary work.

Why oval is the hardest shape to cut

A circle has one radius. An oval has none — the curve changes continuously from the ends to the sides, so there is no single setting that gets it right. Any wobble in the cut shows along the entire edge, and a slightly-off oval reads as a mistake rather than a style choice. That is why most suppliers skip it.

Ours are cut on a true elliptical profile with a perpendicular side and a crisp top rim. The surface is smooth and closed-cell, so fondant lies flat without the bead texture that shows through on cheap low-density foam.
