Wedding cakes usually use stacked tiers with multiple dummy sizes. Here are the combinations decorators order most.
Popular wedding cake combinations
3-tier wedding cake
6", 8", 10"
4-tier wedding cake
6", 8", 10", 12"
Luxury 5-tier wedding cake
6", 8", 10", 12", 14"
All of these are stock sizes in our round cake dummy range. If you would rather not order the pieces one by one, we sell them pre-grouped as tiered wedding sets, or you can build your own combination in the Cake Tower Studio and watch the price update as you stack.
Tall cylinder cake dummies are trending
Tall cakes have become one of the biggest decorating trends in recent years. The most popular tall sizes are 6"x8", 8"x8", 10"x8" and 12"x8".
Tall cylinders suit modern wedding cakes, luxury events, contemporary designs and social-media showpieces. We cut round dummies up to 10" tall in every diameter from 4" to 22".
Heart cake dummies for vintage cake trends
Heart cakes have exploded in popularity thanks to social media and vintage-inspired designs. The most popular heart sizes are 6", 8", 10" and 12" — all available in our heart cake dummy range, including versions with a center hole for doweled tiers.
Heart shapes are perfect for birthdays, weddings, Valentine's Day and practising piping and buttercream work. For a softer take on the same romantic look, our petal and scalloped shapes cost the same as the equivalent round size.
Square cake dummies for modern designs
Square dummies give a clean, architectural line for modern styling. Popular sizes are 6", 8", 10" and 12", used for modern wedding cakes, corporate events, sharp-edge fondant work and bakery displays. Browse the full square cake dummy range, 4" to 22" per side.
